Approximately 50,000 tourists are expected to spend the 4th of July weekend in Puerto Peñasco with hotels reporting 80% to 100% in early reservations.

Entire families and groups of friends from Arizona, California, Nevada, and other states across the Southwestern part of the U.S. have chosen Puerto Peñasco as the spot to celebrate the 4th of July, U.S. Independence Day. The local Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV) expects this to result in a 40 million peso economic influx to the area (aprox. 2.6 million US) at an average spending of $55 US daily per person.

Héctor Vázquez del Mercado, President of the OCV, indicated that vacationers started streaming into Puerto Peñasco as of Thursday, looking to enjoy the sun and sand over the weekend.
